Celebrating Leadership, Innovation and Impact at the 2026 CFA Awards of Excellence

The fifth annual Canadian Fuels Association (CFA) Awards of Excellence took place on June 10 at the National Arts Centre (NAC) in Ottawa, bringing together CFA members, industry leaders, partners, and special guests to recognize the individuals and organizations making a meaningful impact across Canada’s transportation fuels sector.

The CFA Awards of Excellence celebrate excellence in leadership, innovation, collaboration, community impact, and professional achievement, honouring individuals and organizations whose contributions are helping shape the future of Canada’s energy and fuels industry.

This year’s celebration recognized eight outstanding recipients across a range of categories:

Collaboration and Partnership Award – Tiina McCombie, National Energy Equipment

Rising Star Award – Connor Scheu, Suncor and Melina Papadakis, Imperial Oil

Committee Member of the Year Award – Gurpreet Bhatia, Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL)

Innovation Award – Imperial Oil Renewable Diesel team

Community Champion Award – Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation

Lifetime Achievement Award – Geoff Granville, Shell retiree

Françoise Landry CFA Achievement Award – Jennifer Spooner
